I have a deep love of nature and marvel at the new discoveries that I make every time I pick up a camera. Through my lens I hope to share what I see with others and bring awareness as to the importance of preservation of our wildlife and their habitats. Due to over development, natural habitats are disappearing at a rapidly increasing rate. Conservation is key, and as such our nature preserves and national parks are extremely vital and need our support. Thank you Joni. This is the wonderful colors they develop during breeding season. The female has a green ring around the eye and the male you see here gets more of a blue color.

Wow Julie. Beautiful capture. We don't have these out here on the west coast. I have never seen a photo of them with their feathers sticking up on their heads. This is beautiful!!! L/F

Thank you Craig. This Anhinga does not always look like this. It is breeding season for them here in Florida. So they have the color around the eye and that crown on their heads. They are beautiful when you see them like this.
