Description
Tri color Heron in breeding plumage sitting in it's newly made nest. The bird residents of the marsh are all in varying stages of nesting. This Tri Color was watching it's mate approach with new materials to add to the growing nest. It is amazing to watch how the pairs work in tandem to build, and protect the nest. They depend on each other in many aspects. I typically will not take a photo if the subject is looking away from the photo but this one I liked the story behind this pose.
