Description
A hatchling hanging out on it's mothers back. This is the safest place for such a newly hatched alligator to rest. There are many predators in the wetlands that eat the young alligators such as the Great Blue Heron and large turtles.

Thank you Jerry, and indeed they do. They were actually pretty close. Right beside the walkway I was on. But I was safely above them!!
